  • Watch: Childish Gambino
Without a doubt, one of our favorite tracks off the mostly laid back Childish Gambino debut Camp is "Heartbeat," the aggressively dirty bass-heavy banger toward the middle of the disc. The video premieres on BET's 106 and Park in about an hour, but we've got the teaser trailer below to get a feel for the video.
  • New Music Video: Tonight Alive
Tonight Alive are kicking the lady-fronted rock genre pretty hard in the nuts, channeling many of our favorite frontladies (especially redheaded Hayley Williams of Paramore). We love Paramore, and we're suckers for a good "band having fun performing and recording" video, so get a little of both with "Breaking and Entering." It's a pop punk appetizer for their forthcoming LP What Are You So Scared Of?, out 2/14.
  • Stream: Moonface
Spencer Krug's last Moonface offering was a bit of a diversion, a collection organ music (and not vibraphone, like he'd hoped), quite literally named we might add. But this new track is true Krug, a placebo for those going through Wolf Parade withdrawal. "Teary Eyes and Bloody Lips" is part of their forthcoming proper LP With Siinai: Heartbreaking Bravery. Blast it as you head into the weekend.
  • Stream: Screaming Females
Jersey power trio Screaming Females are set to release their fifth studio album, Ugly on April 3 via Don Giovanni Records. They've started promoting that album by releasing the lead-off track today titled "It All Means Nothing." The song is pretty awesome and indicates that the entire new album will perhaps, too, be awesome.
  • Late Night: The Kills
Duo of badasses, The Kills, stripped down their electric sound for the tender ballad "The Last Goodbye" last night on David Letterman. The product shows a different side of the band, which turns out to be equally powerful.
  • The Hookup: Van Halen Tickets
Hard Rock pioneers Van Halen have been fragmented from their original line-up since 1984, missing their gloriously insane singer, David Lee Roth. This year, they're coming out with their first album with the original line up (sans original bassist) in 28 years, A Different Kind of Truth. See more info on the tour here.
  • Obama Has A Campaign Mix on Spotify
Al Green cover artist and also President of the United States Barack Obama is a tech savvy man. He has accounts on Instagram and Tumblr, and has a Facebook group called "Pet Lovers for Obama." Now, Obama's team has released a campaign playlist on Spotify, carefully assembling 28 tracks to try to somehow make every single person in the world like him.
  • Album Review: Air
As any fans of 90s alt rock should know, back in 1996, the Smashing Pumpkins released a music video for their hit "Tonight, Tonight" which paid tribute to the classic and ground-breaking 1902 science fiction film Le Voyage Dans La Lune directed by French film pioneer George Melies. French electronica duo Air have decided to pay their tribute to this landmark of the silent era with an album, Le Voyage Dans La Lune, named after the film and with music inspired by its story/visuals.
  • Picks For The 54th Annual Grammy Awards
The Grammys air this Sunday on CBS, and most of the modern music world will be watching for a few hot categories-- left-field nominations like Bon Iver will have to contend with the massive favorites (Adele, Mumford and Sons, etc). The Grammys aren't exactly the pinnacle of music recognition. Plenty of categories seem like they are floating handicaps for popular, established artists (like The Red Hot Chili Peppers get a nod for their worst work ever, somehow). However, with performances, reunions, and maybe a provocative gesture or two, it's sure to be something everyone will gripe about on Monday.
  • Stream: The Knocks
It takes stones to cover a song that was one of the most celebrated tracks of 2011, but that is exactly what electronic duo The Knocks decided to do. With vocal help from Mandy Lee, the Knocks took on 2011 anthem "Midnight City" by M83. The cover doesn't quite stand up to the original (where is the epic saxophone outro), but if you're looking for a version of the track where you can actually understand the lyrics, check out this commendable cover below.
  • Watch: The Fray
Baeble will be unveiling some exclusive footage we shot with piano rockers The Fray, and just last week, we published an exclusive interview with the Fray's vocalist, Isaac Slade. The Fray are continuing their promotion of their newest album, Scars and Stories, (which was released 2/7) and paid a visit to The Today Show's studio to play their new track "Heartbeat." The Fray have toned down the pianos and increased the guitar presence, so even if you weren't a fan of The Fray in the past, you might find something you like now.
